Liberty Transnational’s senior consultants, Chuck Payer and Jeff Sanders, have amassed over half a century of combined experience in business management, corporate development, finance, and engineering.  Messrs. Payer and Sanders first crossed paths on Wall Street a decade ago and have been business partners since 1997.  Their complementary skills, experiences, industry knowledge, and networks of colleagues, relationships, and associations throughout the world provide the foundation for the unique capabilities of the Liberty team.

 

 


Charles J. Payer, Jr.

 

Chuck Payer is President and Principal Consultant of Liberty.  His broad knowledge and industry experience span thirty-three years, include the disciplines of engineering, finance, marketing, and operations, and encompass the geographies of the Americas, Europe, and Asia.  Mr. Payer’s career has taken him from engineer to executive and from intrapreneur to entrepreneur, oftentimes on the leading edge of rapidly changing industries, including telecommunications, media, and information services.  Over his career, he has negotiated hundreds of transactions totaling in excess of $5 billion.  Mr. Payer has served on boards of directors, both at home and overseas, and holds degrees in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and Management Sciences (MBA) from Saint Louis University.  He is a native of Saint Louis, Missouri, and is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) and a licensed real estate broker.  Mr. Payer is also a member of various engineering, business, and professional societies (e.g., IEEE, NSPE, AMA et al.). 


 

Jeffrey C. Sanders

Jeff Sanders is a Senior Consultant at Liberty.  Mr. Sanders is also Chief Financial Officer of Affinity Wind, LLC, a wind energy development company based in St. Louis, MO.  He has twenty years of experience as a financier and strategist, having worked as both a commercial and Wall Street investment banker for, and as a senior executive and board member of, a variety of telecommunications, media, and information services businesses. Over his career, Mr. Sanders has negotiated transactions covering in excess of $4 billion and developed relationships with a broad array of investment banking, private equity, mezzanine and debt sources. As such, he knows firsthand the importance of selecting financial partners that are compatible with clients. Mr. Sanders is well-versed in communicating with financial partners through formal presentations, board reports, ongoing financial and operational summaries, and industry conferences. His experience also covers a broad variety of merger, acquisition, joint venture, investment, and debt and equity placement transactions. A native Midwesterner, Mr. Sanders graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude. He also holds a Master of Business Administration, with Distinction, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
